Dear Sirs,
In your TBS article at
the following URL: http://www.tbsjournal.com/Archives/Fall02/LBC.html,
you incorrectly state that Jihad Khazen was managing editor of Beirut's English-language
newspaper, The Daily Star, "until the civil war put that paper out of existence".
This is totally incorrect. The Daily Star suspended operations during part of
the civil war, however it has long restarted its operations and is now the leading
English language paper in the region with correspondents all over the world and
a partnership with the International Herald Tribune. Today it prints local and
regional versions in more than one country and has a very popular online edition:
http://www.dailystar.com.lb/.
Please check your facts
before making incorrect statements in the future.
Sincerely,
Adrian Johanesson

TBS is delighted to
be reminded that The Daily Star has long since resumed publication and apologizes
for the potentially misleading wording used in the original piece.
